brandnewscience | manifesto

​

brandnewscience is experimentation, exploration and art. it is a mindset in which we engage in the practice of being artists and where the only limitations are those we set ourselves. it is about creative freedom, openness and cultivating curiosity along with the desire to discover and make art utilising contemporary and traditional media. we seek the place we do not feel safe and encourage uncertainty as part of the creative process. we embrace randomness in our quest for the serendipitous mistake. we seek new perspectives.

brandnewscience is how we find paths through the infinite byways and backwaters of the electromagnetic spectrum, entrained in the rush of the electron streams coursing through the circuits of computers and synthesisers or in the drift of photons across retinas, sensors and the endless images playing within the mind’s eye

 

we cast ourselves adrift deep in the endless oceans of static and colour, seeking out the modulations and oscillations within the ebb and flow of the electromagnetic tides. we contemplate the hard data and wonder at the numinous

 

we embrace sound. the noise, hum, flutter and the glorious symphonies of emi and rfi. there are treasures to be found in the sparlking depths of the oceans of am static. we work to find new noise, filtering and modulating and delaying and reverberating to shape sound
